DIY: Crochet Bunny Containers

EN

Firstly: rest in peace J. Cruijff, a Dutch legendary football player. Your dead came so unexpected. I was sitting on the public bus today and overheard someone saying “a footballer died today huh?!”, never knew it was Cruijff that the person was talking about until I came home and saw it on the news.

Ok.
Lets make mini stuffed bunny for Easter! All you need for this DIY is basic amigurumi crochet skills and a Kinder Egg plastic shell. And you don’t even need fibre stuffing either! Maybe a stuffed bunny with chocolate eggs inside.

Happy to have a long Easter weekend break this upcoming one!

Allereerst: rust in vrede J. Cruijff!

A piece of nostalgia in my hand these Kinder Egg! The plastic container that holds the toy got a little upgrade it seems because they all have a hinge.

Step by step

You need
2.5 mm hook pen, cotton yarn (I used Phildar Cotton 3), pair of scissors
Body

R1. Magic loop + 6 ch
R2. 2x sc in each stitch (12)
R3. 1x sc, 2x sc (18)
R4. 1x sc, 1x sc, 2x sc (24)
R5 - R11. 1x sc (24)
R12. chain extra, turn your work and single crochet in the next 3 stitches (this will be the hinge). Add 21 chains and connect with the last chain with the beginning stitch of this row. There, you have a circle now!
R13 - R17. turn your work again and 1x sc (24)
R18. 1x sc, 1x sc, 1x dec (18)
R19. 1x sc, 1x dec (12)
R20. 1x dec (6), leave a tail and seam off the small hole.

Ears - make two

R1. start with a good tail and chain 11
R2. (start in the 10th st) dc in the next 2 st , hdc in the next 3 st, sc in next 4 st, slst in last st
R3. turn where we are crocheting around our by sc all stitches. Except the top stitch (top of the ear): 3x sc in that stitch then continue 1x sc till the end. Leave a tail.

Attach the ears to the body by knotting the 2 tails together.

My Easter chocolate for this year are almonds dipped chocolate with cinnamon and icing sugar coating.
